The Home Study and Post Release Services (HS/PRS) program is a nationwide approach to guarantee the ongoing support as well as the long term safety, success and well-being of unaccompanied children prior, during and after they have been released from the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) to parents or sponsors. Through a bilingual team of case managers and clinicians, Cayuga Centers provides the following services to ensure the ongoing success and stability of children in our care.

Our Program

→   Assesses potential sponsors’ homes for any safety risks or red flags prior to unification

→   Provides access to services such as legal representation, medical providers, community resources, and advocacy

→   Provides counseling and coaching on a case-by-case basis when instances of gang relations and substance abuse are present

→   Provides therapeutic services to assist with individual mental health needs, family stabilization, and counseling

→   Assists with navigating the educational system due to possible language barriers

→   Assists with applications for Trafficking Victim Assistance Programs (TVAP)

Who is eligible for this service?

→   Unaccompanied children between the ages of 0 and 17 and a half referred via shelter or by a Treatment Family Foster Care provider
