Family Preservation Program (FPP)

The Family Preservation Program (FPP) is a short-term intervention program for families with children ages 0-17 who are at imminent risk of being placed in out-of-home care. This program helps prevent abuse and neglect and keep children safe in their homes. 

FPP offers immediate response to referrals within 24 hours, with 24/7 service. Master’s level clinicians work with a maximum of two families, spending a minimum of 10-15 hours per week for 4-6 weeks with the family. Clinicians assess strengths and needs, formulate treatment plans, coordinate treatment plans, provide crisis assistance, and link families to community services.

→   Help parents improve their parenting abilities

→   Identify parental and youth strengths

→   Create stable and nurturing family environments in which children can grow and develop

→   Maintain and build upon primary family connections

→   Improve individual and family functioning within their culture and community

Who is eligible for this service?

→    Families referred through Child Protective Services and Child Preventive Services branches of the county’s Department of Health and Human Services.
