Individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities supported by Cayuga Centers have created a community service project called Blooming Kindness. Donated flowers are transformed into beautiful bouquets that are delivered with kindness and conversation to our friends and neighbors at local hospitals and nursing homes who rarely get flowers or many visitors. With Blooming Kindness, individuals build on their life skills and job readiness and build relationships.

How does Blooming Kindness work?

→ Flowers and vases are donated to our Blooming Kindness program.

→ Flowers are repurposed into beautiful bouquets and placed into recycled vases with notes of encouragement by our program members.

→ Bouquets are delivered to local health care facilities, spreading joy and positivity to patients who need encouragement.

Donations to Blooming Kindness

Along with flowers, we will continually be collecting vases, mugs, and mason jars to create these floral arrangements. Ideal vases are around 6-9 inches in height and medium size to ensure that they can fit in delivery carts and be displayed by patients’ bedsides. If you have vases you would like to donate, please call (315) 549-0116 to arrange pick up or your vases can also be dropped off Mon – Fri at 210 Osborne Street, Auburn, NY between 9am – 4pm.
