We welcome the Honorable Craig J. Doran to Auburn campus

Auburn, NY – The Honorable Craig J. Doran, Ontario County Court Judge, and acting Supreme Court Justice, visited the Cayuga Centers campus September 30, 2015 to learn about placement and prevention programs.
Edward Myers Hayes, President & CEO, gave an overview of the agency’s main program areas: Residential Treatment Center, Treatment Family Foster Care in CNY, NYC and Palm Beach County, Florida, Foster Care for Unaccompanied Children in NYC, Community-Based Interventions, and Services for People with Developmental Disabilities.
Judge Doran toured the Residential Treatment Center with Rhoda Overstreet-Wilson, Vice President of Out-of-Home Care; Robert Hulik, Director of Daily Living, Laura Manley, Director of Clinical Services, Kari Smith, Director of CNY Treatment Family Foster Care, Kelly Ware, Director of Case Planning & After Care Services, and Christine Moulton, Director of Strategic Initiatives. They discussed the agency’s treatment foster care and residential treatment programs, which use Trauma Systems Therapy and include individual and family therapy for each youth. Staff members also described Alternatives to Detention and 45-Day Diagnostic placements which can meet important needs for youth needing options other than conventional congregate care.
In addition, Cindi Pagan, Vice President of Community-Based Initiatives, described the agency’s home and community-based interventions that can work to prevent out of home placements or can work effectively with youth and families before, during and after discharge from a facility to ease the transition back home.
Judge Doran spoke about the immense need for improved mental health serves for youth and praised the work done by Cayuga Centers; “You are doing things no one else is doing!”
