Apr 30, 2015
At an awards presentation held in Syracuse, New York April 29, 2015, Cayuga Centers received a grant from the Women’s Fund of Central New York – a component fund of the Central New York Community Foundation.
The $3,000 grant will support enhanced programming for Cayuga Centers’ CARE program, a residential treatment program for young women from across Central and Upstate New York. One of only two programs of its kind in New York State, CARE seeks to provide self-development opportunities, enhanced recreational and vocational opportunities, and group building skills as supports to its trauma-centered treatment program. Expected outcomes for the young women served include better family dynamics, a return to home and community, and a strong foundation for continued personal growth and success.
Edward Myers Hayes, Cayuga Centers President and CEO, lauded the work of the foundation and expressed his gratitude for the agency being named one of twelve funding recipients.
“The philanthropic leadership of the Women’s Fund of Central New York and its dedication to promoting and enhancing opportunities for young women in Central New York is exemplary. We are proud to be a partner in the work of changing lives.”
