Diane Rutenberg Named Clinician
Mar 17, 2017
Diane Rutenberg has been named clinician for the Palm Beach County, Florida enhanced foster care program operated by Cayuga Centers.
A Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Rutenberg will provide individual and family therapy for youth placed by ChildNet through a contract with Cayuga Centers to provide enhanced foster care. The program serves hard-to-place youth who cannot stay at home but do not do well in group setting. Cayuga Centers places these youth with highly trained and supported foster parents who work with a team of specialists to meet the goals of healing from trauma and learning to regulate emotions and behaviors.
As a clinician, Rutenberg joins a team also consisting of a program manager, home recruiter, and skills trainer to provide strong support to the youth and to the foster parents.
She says, "I really enjoy the team and the philosophy of Cayuga Centers. As the team Clinician, I especially love helping the kids heal from their trauma," about her work with youth and families in the program.
Holding a Master of Social Work from the Florida International University, Rutenberg most recently served as a family counselor for the Palm Beach County School District, and has experience in several Department of Juvenile Justice programs or facilities.
Program Director Lisa Cohen says, “Diane brings both a wealth of clinical knowledge and a compassion for foster care to our team. She works with our families with a holistic and trauma sensitive approach, and is an asset to this program. We are so grateful.”
